Creative Couples Therapy - An experiential toolkit
This 1-Day workshop offers an experiential immersion into the space couple clients occupy and how to creatively support their arrival into relational contact. Relationship therapy is filled with opportunities for arrival, meeting, and nourishment. Explore how to co-create impactful experiments using your phenomenological sensitivity, alongside sound and objects as aids, to reveal your clients’ conflict dynamics, and explore their possibilities for lively relational contact. We start by enhancing our phenomenological sensitivity required to delve into the field of the couple-clients and notice their ways of being with each other.
Then, distinct units of work will provide workshop participants with opportunities to enrich their clients’ awareness of their fixed patterns and to experiment with bringing forward disallowed parts of self, as we engage with:
the presence and impact of their families of origin in the couple's shared space
increasing sensitivity to the effect they have on each other
the loss of vibrant parts of self while in relationship, and its impact on the quality of their life together
creatively exploring ways to support partners’ differentiation and its effect on their shared space.
